Trap, Neuter & Return
Help us reduce the overpopulation of stray and feral cats
What is TNR & Why it Matters
TNR is a program designed to help reduce the overpopulation of feral cat colonies. Many of these cats are not friendly enough to be brought inside and become adoptable. So we get out there to trap them, neuter or spay them to stop the overbreeding, return them to a familiar or safe location, and keep an eye on them in case they need veterinary care.
What is the problem with stray/outdoor cats?
Stray cats don’t have anyone to look after them, and every moment a cat spends outside puts them in serious danger. Just look at the facts:
5.4 million cats are hit by cars in the U.S. every year
Outdoor cats are exposed to parasites, illness, and disease which can be deadly to them and can they expose these things to other pets, wildlife and even humans
Coyotes, snakes, panthers, bobcats, alligators, and birds of prey actively predate on and kill cats as they can be easy prey
Cats are poisoned often due to consuming a poisoned rat or being poisoned from a person who doesn’t like stray cats
Other peoples pets can attack outdoor cats causing fatal injuries
There are also detrimental environmental concerns due to the severe overpopulation of outdoor cats:
House cats kill over 12 billion mammals every year in the U.S. alone
House cats kill over 2.4 billion birds every year in the U.S.
About 75 percent of nonnatural bird deaths are committed by cats
Outdoor cats have contributed to the extinction of over 60 species
So, what can you do?
One way to make an impact is to donate to our TNR Program
Make a one time donation or start monthly donations
Make a Donation Today
Since these kitties cannot be adopted, we cannot recover paying for their care with adoption fees. We rely solely on donations to continue helping feral cats who cannot be placed in homes
Another way to help is to become a kitten foster or a cat trapper
When you become a foster you can help us take in a sick feral cat who needs medical attention or you could take in mother who is ready to give birth or has kittens with her. Together, we can TNR the cats and find kittens the pur-fect forever homes.
You can also help us trap cats, get them TNR neuter appointments, get them fixed, and return them to a familiar or safe space.
